Captain John Damiano Komba (18 March 1954 – 28 February 2015) was a Tanzanian CCM politician and a retired officer of the Tanzanian army. He served as the Member of Parliament for Mbinga West constituency from 2005 until his death.
Komba was born in Mbinga district, Ruvuma Region, Tanzania on 18 March 1954. He attended Mbinga Primary School from 1961 to 1967, and then Mbinga Secondary School from 1968 to 1972. In 1973, he joined the Tanzanian army and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1975. He served in the army for 25 years, rising to the rank of captain. He retired from the army in 1998.
After retiring from the army, Komba entered politics. He was elected to the National Assembly of Tanzania in the 2005 general election, representing the Mbinga West constituency. He was re-elected in the 2010 general election.
Komba was a member of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), the ruling party in Tanzania. He served as the CCM Secretary for Mbinga district from 2005 to 2015. He was also a member of the CCM National Executive Committee.
Komba died on 28 February 2015 at the Muhimbili National Hospital in Dar es Salaam. He was 60 years old.
Komba was a popular and respected politician. He was known for his hard work and dedication to his constituents. He was also a strong advocate for the development of Mbinga district.
