ABOUT GEITA GOLD MINING LTD: Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in South Africa, with operations in more than ten countries, in four continents.

The mine is located in Northwestern Tanzania's Lake Victoria Gold Fields, just 20 kilometers southeast of the closest Lake Victoria point and 85 kilometers from Mwanza City. The business has a supporting office in Dar es Salaam in addition to its head office in Geita, just 5 kilometers to the west of the town's rapidly expanding center. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:


The role's objective is to offer business support for inventory management and cataloging of regular stock goods.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree or Advance Diploma in Material Management / Procurement and Supply Management or equivalent qualifications

EXPERIENCE

  1. At least three (3) years’ work experience in supply Chain Operations preferably in Mining industry, one of which should be in inventory control and Cataloguing
  2. Experience in the Mining Supply Chain will be an added advantage
  3. Experience with the Enterprise Resource planning (ERP) system preferable SAP system.



MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:




Cataloguing & Inventory Contro


  1. Liaise with technical staff at the Business Unit and AGA (where Applicable)
  2. Ensure all items are appropriately classified (Standard Stock, Critical to safety / production, insurance spares, ORA etc.)
  3. Pull reports from SAP system and distribute the reports to the end users as to obtain sign off for possible redundancy
  4. Adjust Min/ Max levels on a continuous basis based on consumption variation by drawing appropriate reports from SAP
  5. Determine correct economic re-order quantity (EOQ) to realize cost saving
  6. Ask for reports on an ad hoc basis for the effective management of inventory
  7. Conduct periodic content checks of spares in the catalogue, in collaboration with the Senior Inventory Controller, to identical spares / components that may be stocked under different equipment for the purpose of doing item master amendment by cross – referencing such items
  8. Cleaning of Warehouse Catalogue as directed by Management in collaboration with the senior Supervisor Inventory
  9. Process cycle count / annual stock take reconciliation and system adjustment on SAP system.

Administration

  1. Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to and suggested changes (amendments) where required
  2. Should be able to develop effective working relationship across all levels of Organizations
  3. Should be both ready to work under pressure and meet very tight deadlines
  4. Maintain a record of recurring direct purchase requisition to identify potentials for standard stock application
  5. Positive attitudes towards healthy, safety & environment compliance



Stock Audit

  1. Draw appropriate stock audit report for ad hoc and formal stock audits upon request
  2. Assist in the stock audit process as instructed by Supervisor



ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  2. Sound knowledge of Materials handling and handling Inventory
  3. Fluent in English and Kiswahili
  4. Strong communications and administration skills
  5. Good knowledge of Microsoft office with proficiency in Ms. Excel including V/Loo up & Pivot Table functions
  6. Good problem – Solving skills.
