Eastern Illinois University's MyEIU portal allows you to customize your online experience. On your very own profile page, you can check your admission status, financial aid status, register for your Orientation, Advisement & Registration program, and register for housing.

    How to log into MyEIU

    1. From EIU’s home page, select MyEIU.
    2. Or, navigate directly to

    First time logging into myEIU?

    1. Click to register as a new user.
    2. Select the appropriate student classification link.
    3. Register using your personal email and your password.
    4. Your Net ID and password will be located in your admission checklist.

    E-Number/Net ID/Password

    Your acceptance letter will contain your nine-character E-Number, a special identification number.

    You are given an E-number when you are admitted to Eastern Illinois University, which is used to hold all of your records. You must supply your E-number whenever you phone a University office and request assistance that necessitates access to your student records.

    Any website necessary for academic function, such as EIU D2L for online classes, EIU email (PantherMail), scholarship applications (Academic Works), and PAWS (the online student information system), will be accessible using your Net ID and password.

    You will use your NetID more frequently and your MyEIU account less frequently when you move to being an EIU student.

    How to locate your EIU Net ID and password

    1. Go to your MyEIU account.

    How to log into EIU Panthermail

    PantherMail, the university's email system, is the designated avenue for all academic and administrative notices.

    Microsoft Office 365 powers EIU PantherMail, so be sure to log in frequently. Class schedules, financial aid announcements for students, and account statements from the business office are all examples of official communication.

    Missed mails may occur if your PantherMail inbox is not regularly checked. You are in charge of making sure your PantherMail account is checked frequently and has enough space available to receive university communications.

    The secure Web interface at is the quickest and most convenient way to access your PantherMail. There is no setting required; all you need is a computer with an Internet connection and a Web browser. To begin, enter your NetID and password in the fields given.

    By selecting the EIU PantherMail link in the top-right corner of the website, you can also access your account directly from the EIU home page.

    In order to access EIU PantherMail,

    1. Go to
    2. In the upper right-hand corner, select the “Panthermail” tab.
    3. Enter your NetID and Password as the login credentials.
    4. Your panthermail has all of the features of Microsoft Office360.
    5. You can save any work you do to your account so you can access it anywhere.
    6. To access your Panthermail, select “outlook” If you access your panthermail on a public computer, do NOT just exit from the browser.
    7. Go to the circle with your initials in the top left corner and click “sign out” in the dropdown menu.
    8. After selecting “sign out,” the page will reload with the message “hang on a second while we sign you out.”
    9. You have to wait until it reloads and tells you that the sign-out was successful, or else you will remain logged in on that computer, and the next user will be able to access your Panthermail if they try to log into their Panthermail.

    How to set up EIU PantherMail on your mobile device

    EIU only supports using the Microsoft Outlook App for setting up email on mobile devices:

    1. Go to the Apple App Store on iOS devices and the Google Play Store on Android devices.
    2. Search the store for the Microsoft Outlook App.
    3. Download the app, and choose Add Account or enter your EIU email address.
    4. The app should load EIU’s Panthermail login page.
    5. Enter your EIU netID and password.
    6. The app should load all necessary information and open your email.

    EIU does not support other mobile email clients at this time.

    How to access EIU PAWS

    Students, instructors, staff, and annuitants can access different online resources through the EIU PAWS (Panther Access to Web Services) online system.

    With the help of EIU PAWS, students can safely:

    1. Register for classes
    2. Look at student payroll records
    3. Pay university bills
    4. View the course catalog and class schedule
    5. Access financial aid

    To log in:

    1. Click the “PAWS” link at the top right corner of the EIU homepage.
    2. Enter your Eastern Illinois University Net ID and password.
    3. When finished, select Login.
    Your Net ID is all lowercase, and both the Net ID and password are case sensitive.

    When finished, close your browser and log out to preserve your privacy.
