Rayvanny is a Tanzanian singer, songwriter, and dancer. He was born Raymond Shaban Mwakyusa on August 22, 1993, in Mbeya, Tanzania. Rayvanny first gained fame with his hit single "Kwetu" in 2016, which was followed by a string of successful songs such as "Natafuta Kiki," "Mbeleko," and "Tetema" featuring Diamond Platnumz.
He Was signed to WCB Wasafi, a Tanzanian music label founded by Diamond Platnumz, and has collaborated with several notable artists in the industry, including Nigerian singer, Davido, and Kenyan band, Sauti Sol.
Rayvanny has won several awards, including the Best New International Act at the 2017 BET Awards and the Best Male East Africa at the 2021 MTV Africa Music Awards. He is known for his unique sound, which fuses traditional Tanzanian music with modern Afrobeats and pop.
