Important Dates on the MTSU Academic Calendar for 2022–2023



MTSU stands for Middle Tennessee State University. It is a public university located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, United States. It was founded in 1911 and currently has an enrollment of more than 22,000 students. The university offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in a wide range of disciplines, including business, education, health, humanities, and sciences.

The Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters make up the semester structure at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). There are fifteen (15) weeks of academic activity in each semester.

MTSU academic calendar fall 2022

  1. Fall 2022 Priority Registration is from April 4, 2022 to April 15, 2022.
  2. MTSU move-in day for fall 2022 is on Sunday, August 14, 2022. MTSU Housing will provide students with their assigned move-in time. Commuters will come at the assigned check-in time on Sunday, August 14th.
  3. August 21, 2022 is the 100% Fee Adjustment Deadline. The last day for students to drop all Fall classes and receive a 100% fee adjustment, according to the MTSU academic calendar 2022-2023.
  4. MTSU Fall 2022 classes start on August 22, 2022. Full and Accelerated 1 Terms begin.
  5. Late registration and drop/add on PipelineMT is on August 22, 2022; Late registration fee – $100.
  6. Labor Day Holiday is September 5, 2022. No Classes, Middle Tennessee State University is closed.
  7. September 15, 2022 is the first day to make applications for Spring 2023 and Fall 2023/Spring 2024.
  8. The second payment plan instalment due date is September 30, 2022.
  9. MTSU Fall Break 2022 is from October 8, 2022 to October 11, 2022.
  10. MTSU fall 2022 Accelerated 2 (A2) classes begin on October 12, 2022.
  11. October 14, 2022 is the fee payment deadline for students who registered August 30 – October 14 for A2. Class schedules are deleted unless fees are paid or registration is confirmed by 4:30 p.m, according to the MTSU academic calendar 2022-2023.
  12. The last day to drop the grade of W is October 26, 2022.
  13. The third payment plan instalment due date is October 31, 2022.
  14. November 4, 2022 is the last date to submit requests for Fall 2022 assignment changes.
  15. MTSU Thanksgiving Holidays 2022 are from November 23, 2022 to November 26, 2022. No Classes/University is closed from November 24 – November 26, 2022.
  16. The fourth payment plan instalment due date is November 30, 2022.
  17. November 30, 2022 is the last day of classes, according to the MTSU academic calendar 2022-2023.
  18. The UG deadline to withdraw from all classes is November 30, 2022.
  19. December 1, 2022 is also Study Day, No Classes/Exams/Mandatory Meetings
  20. MTSU Final Exams as Determined by University Approved Exam Schedule is from December 2, 2022 to December 8, 2022.
  21. MTSU Residence Halls move-out period for fall 2022 is December 2, 2022 – December 8, 2022. Students must check out within 24 hours of their last final examination, according to the MTSU academic calendar 2022-2023.
  22. December 8, 2022 is the last day of term.
  23. MTSU Commencement, Official Fall Graduation 2023 Date is December 10, 2022.
  24. December 10, 2022 is the MTSU Residence Halls check-out date exclusively for graduating students.
  25. December 11, 2022 is the deadline for Submission of Final Grades, 11:59 p.m. Full, A2 Fall 2022 grading deadline.
  26. MTSU winter break 2022 is from December 23, 2022 to January 16, 2023.


MTSU academic calendar spring 2023

  1. October 15, 2022 is the 1st of 4 deadlines to submit the License Agreement Cancellation Request for review by the Committee. Forms at MT Housing Portal under Forms/Agreement.
  2. October 15, 2022 is the deadline to cancel housing reservations for the Spring 2023 semester and receive a full refund of the Spring 2023 prepaid rent deposit for those graduating and not returning to take classes at MTSU.
  3. November 4, 2022 is the last date to submit requests for Spring 2023 assignment changes.
  4. MTSU Spring 2023 Priority Registration starts from November 7, 2022 to November 18, 2022, according to the MTSU academic calendar 2022-2023.
  5. November 15, 2022 is the 2nd of 4 deadlines to submit the License Agreement Cancellation Request for review by the Committee.
  6. November 15, 2022 is the deadline to cancel housing reservations for the Spring 2023 semester and receive a partial refund of the Spring 2023 prepaid rent deposit for those graduating and not returning to take classes at MTSU.
  7. December 1, 2022 is the 3rd of 4 deadlines to submit the License Agreement Cancellation Request for review by the Committee.
  8. Winter Session 2023 is from December 19, 2022 to January 12, 2023.
  9. New Spring 2023 Resident Check-In date is January 13, 2023 (9 am to 3 pm). Check your Pre Check-In Form for your assigned move-in time.
  10. MTSU Residence Halls are open for returning residents from January 14, 2023 to January 16, 2023 (9 am Saturday – 6:30 pm Monday).
  11. January 15, 2023 is the 4th and final deadline to submit the Spring 2023 License Agreement Cancellation Request for review by Committee.
  12. MLK, Jr. Day is Monday, January 16, 2023, according to the MTSU holiday calendar schedule 2023.
  13. MTSU spring 2023 classes start on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 after MLK, Jr. Day.
  14. January 27, 2023 is the Fall 2022 – Spring 2023 Reapplication deadline for priority assignment for current residents.
  15. The first day to submit requests for Spring 2023 assignment changes is January 30, 2023.
  16. MTSU Spring Break 2023 is from March 6, 2023 to March 11, 2023.
  17. April 26, 2023 is the last day of classes for Spring 2023.
  18. April 27, 2023 is Study Day, with No Classes/Exams/Mandatory Meetings.
  19. The Spring 2023 Final Exams period as Determined by University Approved Exam Schedule is April 28, 2023 – May 4, 2023.
  20. Residence Halls move-out period is April 28 – May 4, 2023. Students must check out within 24 hours of their last final examination.
  21. The last day of the Spring 2023 term is May 4, 2023, according to the MTSU academic calendar 2022-2023.
  22. MTSU Commencement, Official Spring Graduation Date is May 6, 2023.
  23. May 7, 2023 is MTSU’s Residence Halls check-out date, exclusively for graduating students.
  24. The deadline for Submission of Final Grades is May 7, 2023 by 11:59 p.m.
  25. May 31, 2023 is the last day to submit requests for Spring 2023 assignment changes.
